On December 18, 2024, CIKS team members, Mr A.V. Balasubramanian & K. Vijayalakshmi, delivered a guest lecture at MOP Vaishnav College, discussing the nutritional and therapeutic properties of traditional rice varieties. This engaging session was attended by approximately 40 attendees, including postgraduate students and faculty members. Excitingly, it was decided that some students will undertake research studies on TRVs starting in January 2025. A field visit on January 3 allowed 54 students to gain hands-on experience in harvesting methods, deepening their understanding and fostering collaboration with MSc students for their final year projects.
