This Samba season, we initiated the conservation of 171 TRVs across 1.45 acres at the CIKS TRC using the System of Rice Intensification (SRI) method. The crops are currently progressing through various stages of growth, from early development to harvesting. To protect our crops from wildlife, we implemented comprehensive management measures, including mechanical and manual weeding, a lighting system with LED colour lights, audio deterrents, and manual monitoring. We also conducted foliar spraying with organic growth regulators and applied a blend of vermicompost and neem seed powder to enhance growth and control pests. Documentation of agronomic characteristics is nearing completion.
