Our Research Director, Dr. K. Vijayalakshmi, was given an award by the Rotary Club of Madras Temple City on 3rd March 2025 at the Trident Hotel. The chief guest for this function was PDG RTN. Pearl Ijeoma Okoro, Trustee of āThe Rotary Foundationā (2024-28).
The award was presented by Rotarian RTN. Mahaveer Bothra, District Governor, RID 3233. The award was given in recognition of her dedication to bringing about positive change in the community by promoting sustainable agriculture and conserving and reviving Traditional Rice Varieties.
Dr. Vijayalakshmi, in her acceptance speech, dedicated the award to all the small and marginal farmers who have been toiling hard to conserve these Traditional Rice Varieties in spite of all odds.
