On May 21, 2025, in celebration of International Day for Biological Diversity, the Government of Tamil Nadu organized an awareness event at Guindy National Park to promote public understanding and action towards biodiversity conservation. CIKS actively participated in this event by showcasing 170 traditional paddy varieties, in collaboration with Care Earth Trust. This initiative aimed to raise awareness and share valuable insights into traditional rice cultivation practices.

Our marketing partner, Sempulam Sustainable Solutions, also set up a stall displaying a variety of traditional rice and value-added products, engaging the public and highlighting sustainable agricultural practices. The event provided a meaningful platform for outreach, particularly among school students, and allowed us to share our work through CIKS publications.

CIKS team members Mr. Pugazhmani, Ms. Sruthi, Ms. Priya, and Ms. Janani represented the organization at the event, contributing to the successful dissemination of knowledge on biodiversity and traditional agriculture.
