On March 18th and 19th, Dr. K. Vijayalakshmi, along with three other team members from CIKS, attended the Agroecology–Agribusiness Dialogues organized by Asar Social Impact Advisors. This event was part of a series of dialogues held in collaboration with GIZ India.
The two-part webinar series focused on how markets can support smallholder collectives to thrive through sustainable agriculture and collaborative solutions. Experts and practitioners came together to discuss challenges and share strategies to empower farmers, improve incomes, and strengthen agroecological systems. The discussions covered ways to reduce post-harvest losses, create value through processing, and explore shared infrastructure opportunities for smallholder groups.
Dr. K. Vijayalakshmi participated in the panel on the 19th, where she highlighted the importance of providing support for farmers for processing traditional rice varieties on a small scale, branding, marketing and retailing the same. The efforts undertaken by Centre for Indian Knowledge Systems (CIKS) were discussed in detail. The event served as a meaningful platform to exchange knowledge and drive impactful conversations in the field of Agroecology.
