In recognition of his work over two decades long contribution to the revitalization of Indiaâs medical heritage and specially for pioneering works in the field of Vrkshayurveda, the University of Trans- Disciplinary Health Sciences and Technology (TDU) conferred Honorary D.Litt on Dr. AV Balasubramanian, our founder.
National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD), Chennai, presented us with the âBest Performance award to (Producer Organization Promoting Institutions) POPIsâ â First Prize. This was in recognition of our work promoting in 10 Farmer Producer Companies (FPCs) through the NABARD â PRODUCE fund between 2015-2018.
We participated in the International Conference on âInvigorating Transformation of farm extension towards sustainable development: Futuristic challenges and prospectsâ held on 9th and 10th March, 2018, at Tamilnadu Agricultural University, Coimbatore. In this conference, the paper titled âRetaining Village Youth in Agriculture”, presented by Ms Archana Prasad of CIKS, won the Best Paper Award.
Stella Maris College for Women honoured our Co-founder, Dr Vijayalakshmi, for her contribution to sustainable development, on the event held on 10th October, 2015, in Chennai. Dr Vijayalakshmi was also the special guest at the event.
Lions Club of Sirkazhi and Vaitheeswarankovil, presented the “Best Service Award” to Mrs. Subhashini Sridhar of CIKS, Sirkazhi. The award recognised her work related to organic farming in Sirkazhi taluk.
Gandhigram Rural University, Tamil Nadu, conferred an Honorary Doctorate on our Co-founder, DR AV Balasubramanian. This was in recognition of his contribution relating to alternative science and technology.
Dr.K Vijayalakshmi was recognised as an âExpert in Indigenous Technology Promotion”, by Lions Club, Chennai. The award was presented by Lakshmi Kannan, District Chairperson on World Womenâs Day.
Another national level recogntion for us, in 2005, as Council for Advancement of People Action and Rural Technologies (CAPART), New Delhi, recognised CIKS as a Technology Resource Centre for Organic Farming, and supported us with grants for work on organic farming.
In 2002, we one became one of the 23 organizations to be recognised nationally, by Science and Society Division, Department of Science and Technology, Ministry of Science and Technology, Government of India, and we were supported with grants for programs and equipments from 2002 â 2018.
