It is increasingly being seen that agriculture is not attractive or meaningful especially to the youth.  CIKS has taken up a pilot project wherein 60 young farmers (potential farmers) were selected and provided training and handholding for a period of one year in order to equip them with the technologies and skills required to take up agriculture.  This was implemented in the Nagapattinam district in an effort coordinated by Ms. Subhashini Sridhar, Programme Director of CIKS of Sirkazhi.   This is a project that was implemented by CIKS with support from Rabo Bank Foundation Employee Fund and NABARD, Chennai. The results have been rather promising.  You can get an overview of the project and its impact through a short video film which can be viewed here.
