Seminar on Community Seed Banks in India in Times of Change

A two-day seminar titled “Community Seed Banks in India in Times of Change” was jointly organized by the Fridtjof Nansen Institute (FNI), Norway, M S Swaminathan Research Foundation (MSSRF), Chennai, Protection of Plant Varieties and Farmersâ Rights Authority (PPV&FRA), Watershed Support Services and Activities Network (WASSAN), and the Alliance of Bioversity International and CIAT, India Office.
Mr. A.V. Balasubramanian, Director of Centre for Indian Knowledge Systems (CIKS), participated in the seminar and served as Co-Chairperson for the session titled âWorld CafĂ©: Community Seed Banks in Times of Change â Situation, Challenges,â held on the first day of the event.
On this occasion, CIKS shared copies of the publication âSourcebook of Traditional Rice Varieties of Tamil Naduâ along with a curated Gift Box of Traditional Rice Varieties with the delegates.
